AVIOR was built and its stewardship handed to Sho Yamashita — a succession, not a sale. There is a layer in the name for exactly this. AVUS: forefather.

V · The measure
One ambition is written down: to outlast the world’s largest private companies in the same place — not in size.
What AVIOR means to surpass is not their scale. It is their fixity — to still be here after the ships that measured against them have gone somewhere else.
The origin of the coordinates is not the largest point on the map. It is the point the map is drawn from.
VI · The name
Avior is the proper name of Epsilon Carinae, a star in the keel of Carina. HM Nautical Almanac Office coined the word in the late 1930s, for the Royal Air Force’s navigation almanacs. Its etymology was never recorded. Of the fifty-seven navigational stars, only two had no name of their own; the other was given Peacock. This one was given a word that means nothing anyone wrote down. We did not build meaning into the name — it was already carrying all of it:

Seven layers in one word. The mark keeps none of them as a diagram — it is simpler than that: a single point throwing its light outward, ringed by the orbit it holds. A fixed source, radiating.
